Privacy policy
We don't collect your data.
Last updated 29 October 2026
In short: Knaizen MyNews has no account, no sign-in, no analytics, no ads and no tracking. The app downloads the same topic files for everyone, with no user ID, so we never learn who you are or which stories you read. Your topics, saved stories and settings stay on your iPhone and, if you use iCloud, in your own iCloud. App Store privacy label: Data Not Collected.
Who we are
Knaizen MyNews is made by Knaizen, an app studio of Khalil Labs (SMC-Private) Limited, a company registered in Pakistan ("we", "us"). Questions about privacy: support@knaizen.com.
No account
You never create an account or sign in. We have no user database, so there is nothing about you for us to store, lose or sell. Your subscription belongs to your Apple Account and is checked on the iPhone through the App Store.
How the news reaches your iPhone
Our server at mynews.knaizen.com publishes one file per topic, the same file for every reader. The app downloads the files for the topics you chose, plus a small settings file, every few minutes while you use it. These requests carry no user ID, no device ID and no list of what you read; our server only sees that a topic file was downloaded. Choosing, filtering, ordering and hiding stories all happen on your iPhone.
Like any web server, ours records the network (IP) address of each request, with the time and the file asked for, in standard access logs kept for security. These logs are deleted within 14 days and are never used to profile anyone.
What stays on your iPhone and in your iCloud
- the topics you follow and any keyword topics you add;
- stories you save for later;
- sources you mute or prefer;
- settings such as your briefing time, blurring of sensitive images and hiding distressing stories;
- a cached copy of recent stories, so the app opens quickly and works offline.
These are stored on your iPhone. If you are signed in to iCloud, your settings and saved stories sync through the app's storage in your own iCloud (Apple iCloud), under your Apple Account. We cannot read it. If you are not signed in to iCloud, everything stays on the iPhone only.
Publishers' sites and images
MyNews shows each publisher's headline, a short excerpt and a link. Two things come straight from the publisher, not from us:
- Story images, where a publisher allows them, are loaded from the publisher's own servers, which then see your IP address, as with any web page.
- Articles open on the publisher's own website, in a browser inside the app. That page is run by the publisher under its own privacy policy and may use its own cookies or ads. We do not see what you do there.
Daily briefing and widget
The daily briefing (Pro) is a notification your iPhone builds and schedules itself, from stories already downloaded. We do not send push notifications and do not hold a push token for you. The Home Screen widget (Pro) also works from stories on the phone.
Report a problem and support
Report a problem on a story opens a pre-filled email in your own mail app, with the story's ID and link. Nothing is sent unless you press Send. If you email us, we receive your email address and what you write, and use them only to answer you. We keep support emails no longer than needed to help you, and you can ask us to delete them.
Payments
Subscriptions are sold and processed by Apple through the App Store. We never see your name, email, card or bank details. Apple tells the app whether your subscription is active.
Helplines
Stories about self-harm show a link to findahelpline.com, a free directory of helplines. Tapping it opens that site; nothing about you or the story is sent with it.
What leaves your iPhone, all together
- Downloads of topic and settings files from mynews.knaizen.com, as described above.
- Story images, and the articles you open, from the publishers' own sites.
- Sync of your settings and saved stories with your own iCloud, to Apple, under your Apple Account.
- App Store purchases and subscription checks, to Apple.
- Only if you send them: emails to support@knaizen.com.
What we do not do
- No account, no sign-in, no user profile.
- No advertising, no ad networks, no analytics or tracking SDKs, no selling or sharing of data.
- No tracking across other apps or websites, so the app never asks for permission to track you.
- No personalisation from what you read: the order of stories depends only on time and the source, not on you.
Our websites
knaizen.com and mynews.knaizen.com set no cookies and use no analytics or trackers. Our web server keeps standard access logs (including IP addresses) for up to 14 days for security.
Your choices
- Delete your synced data: remove saved stories in the app at any time, or delete the app's iCloud data in your iPhone's Settings, tap your name, then iCloud, Manage Account Storage, Knaizen MyNews.
- Hide distressing stories: turn it on in the app's Settings; sensitive images are blurred by default either way.
- Uninstalling the app removes everything it stored on the phone.
Children
Knaizen MyNews shows real news, which can include mature subjects. It is meant for adults and older teenagers and is not directed at children under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date at the top. If a change affects what leaves your iPhone, we will also say so in the app before it takes effect.
