Terms of use
The terms.
Last updated 29 October 2026
These terms are between you and Khalil Labs (SMC-Private) Limited, Pakistan ("we", "us"), which makes Knaizen MyNews through its studio Knaizen. By using the app you accept them. Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the standard App Store EULA) also applies; where the two differ, these terms add to it but do not take away any right it gives you.
1. What MyNews is
MyNews shows headlines, short excerpts and links to stories published by other news organisations, on topics you choose, from a list of sources we select. It is a way to find the news and read it on the publisher's own site. It is not a publisher itself: we do not write, edit or rewrite the stories, and we do not use AI to summarise them.
2. Publishers' content belongs to the publishers
- Headlines, excerpts, images and articles belong to the publishers that created them (or their licensors). Each story in the app names its publisher and links to the original.
- We show only the publisher's headline, at most a short excerpt where the publisher allows it, and an image only where the publisher allows it. We never copy or store full articles.
- You may read and share links to stories. You may not copy, republish or sell publishers' content from the app; the publisher's own terms apply when you read on its site.
- Some publishers ask readers to subscribe. MyNews does not include, unlock or get around those subscriptions or paywalls.
3. Takedown requests from publishers
If you are a publisher or rights holder and want a story, an image or your whole feed removed from MyNews, email support@knaizen.com from an address at your organisation, with the link (or links) and what you want removed. We remove it within 24 hours of receiving the request, and it disappears from every copy of the app at its next refresh. We also act on requests to correct how your name or content is shown. Details: support for publishers.
4. Accuracy, opinion and sensitive stories
Each publisher is responsible for its own reporting. We choose sources carefully, but we cannot check every story and do not promise that any story is accurate, complete or up to date. Labels such as Opinion, Analysis, Developing and the sensitive-story warnings are added automatically and can occasionally be wrong or missing. Nothing in the app is professional, financial, legal or medical advice. Report anything that looks wrong with Report a problem on the story.
5. Free use, free trial and subscription
- Free: the app can be used without paying, with limits shown in the app (for example 3 topics and the latest stories of the last 48 hours).
- MyNews Pro: $2.99 per month or $24.99 per year (in US dollars; the App Store shows the price in your local currency, including any taxes, before you confirm). Pro removes the free limits and adds the features listed in the app.
- Free trial: new subscribers get 7 days free. When the trial ends, the subscription starts and you are charged automatically, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends. Each Apple Account can use the trial once.
- Payment: payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase, or when the free trial ends.
- Auto-renewal: the subscription renews automatically for the same period and price unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple Account is charged for the renewal within the 24 hours before the current period ends.
- Manage or cancel: in your iPhone's Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions, then Knaizen MyNews. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep Pro until the end of the period you paid for. Any unused part of a free trial ends when you subscribe.
- No account needed: on a new iPhone or after reinstalling, sign in to the App Store with the same Apple Account and tap Restore Purchases in the app's Settings.
- Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies (reportaproblem.apple.com). We cannot issue them.
- Price changes apply to future periods only; Apple will tell you before a change affects your subscription and, where required, ask for your consent.
6. Sources and topics can change
We add, remove and pause sources and topics over time, for example when a publisher asks us to, a feed stops working, or a source no longer meets our standards. A subscription is for the app's features, not for any particular publisher or story.
7. Using the app fairly
Do not try to break, reverse engineer or overload the app or our servers, scrape our feed for another product, or use them for anything unlawful. We grant you a personal, non-transferable licence to use the app on Apple devices you own or control, as allowed by the App Store's usage rules (including Family Sharing, where available).
8. No warranty
We work hard to make the app reliable, but it is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. We do not promise it will be error-free or always available, or that every story will load.
9. Limits on our liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, for the content of publishers' stories or websites, or for decisions made using news shown in the app. Our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid for the app in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
10. Changes and ending
We may update these terms; the date at the top shows the latest version, and important changes will be shown in the app. You can stop using the app at any time by cancelling your subscription and uninstalling it.
11. Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Pakistan, without taking away any protection you have under the consumer laws of the country where you live.
